Sometimes you might get calls from unsolicited numbers, insurance companies, marketing companies or just people you just don’t want to hear from! Blocking phone calls from numbers on your network is possible but remember that blocking texts from phones on other networks is not. Follow these instructions for a quick and simple way to block calls and texts from numbers with your iPhone.
Block a Contact that is saved to your phone
Go to Settings on your main screen
Go to Phone
Go to Call Blocking & Identification
Scroll to the bottom of the page and go to Block Contact
Add the contact you want to block
Block an Unsolicited Caller that is not in your Contact list
Go to your Call List
Press the i symbol at the right of the call log (be sure to do this carefully, if you miss the i symbol, you will call the number back)
Go down to Block this Caller
Press Block Contact
Save a Number to Contacts to Unblock it Later
IMPORTANT TIP: Remember, if it is likely that you will want to unblock this contact in the future, it is better to save the number as a contact before blocking, so that you know the identity of the blocked number if you ever need to recover it. You won’t be able to do this for unknown or withheld numbers, as you can’t save a number you don’t know. To do this from the call list follows the below steps:
Go to your Call List
Press the i symbol at the right of the call log (be sure to do this carefully, if you miss the i symbol, you will call the number back)
Add the number as a contact in Create New Contact
Go to Settings on your main screen
Go to Phone
Go to Call Blocking & Identification
Scroll to the bottom of the page and go to Block Contact
Add the contact you want to block
Block Texts from Someone who isn’t in your Contacts
Go to the text message from the unsolicited number
Click the phone number at the top of the message
Add the number as a contact in Create New Contact
Go to Settings on your main screen
Go to Phone
Go to Call Blocking & Identification
Scroll to the bottom of the page and go to Block Contact
Add the contact you want to block
