Citizens Advice Staffordshire South West

About

“We are a local registered charity who offer free, confidential, impartial, accredited advice and information on a wide range of areas.

We aim to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and help to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.”

On mobile

“Mobile phones and other technologies are crucial to our organisation’s mission to provide confidential, impartial and free advice to anyone that needs our help. Mobile phones allow our advisor to reach clients, but also provide an extra layer of security for our staff, knowing that they have the means to contact any colleague within the organisation if they need help themselves.”

On GoodCall

“Our experience of GoodCall was that anyone we’ve dealt with has always been very friendly, professional and open to listening to our specific needs. Where we’ve addressed specific requirements, those needs have always been addressed and appropriate proposals always put forward.”

On digital inclusion

“The biggest barrier towards technology in the third sector is the lack of affordable options in many areas. To provide high standard services in a digital world means our staff and volunteers require access to ever increasing technology requirements – whether that’s to support business applications or to maintain legal compliance. There’s a lot of areas, particularly those within corporate sectors that don’t understand the financial challenges that nonprofits have. Every penny in the third sector is checked and scrutinized to ensure that it’s being spent fairly and for the purpose it was provided, and justifying some of the pricing of both hardware and software can prove extremely challenging, and in many cases means that third sector organisations hold themselves back from products and services which could potentially revolutionise the services that they offer – even if that means having technology available to increase a charities capacity to reach more people. Technology has become an integral part of the third sector and how many charities aim to achieve their mission so having technology available on a level where it’s accessible is really important and it’s quite often missed, particularly by corporate sector businesses which in many cases are the main sellers/resellers of technology and services which charities have to use.”

Would you recommend GoodCall to another nonprofit organisation?

“100%. The overall service has been great so far and support has been quickly provided whenever we’ve had any problems.”
